Caitlin Muller

Caitlin Muller, LPCC

Hello! My name is Caitlin. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and co-owner of Stepping Stones Counseling! I was born and raised in Bismarck before moving to Fargo to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from NDSU. I then attended graduate school at NDSU and received my Master’s Degree in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Over the last 10 years, I have worked in several settings in both North Dakota and Montana, including school settings, adolescent residential treatment, psychiatric inpatient, and outpatient mental health. I am open to working with clients age 3 and up. I have a special interest in assisting caregivers in parenting challenges. I like to work closely with caregivers to help identify root causes of behavior issues and give them the tools to be confident in managing their child’s behaviors. I am so grateful to be able to combine my passion with my work and I am excited to help each family reach their full potential.

Kim Beck

Kim Beck, LPCC-S

Hi! My name is Kim. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and co-owner at Stepping Stones Counseling. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Jamestown College in 2004 and my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Baltimore in 2006. I have been fortunate to gain experience working in various settings with diverse client populations in Baltimore, Seattle, and here at home in Bismarck. I have been working with children, adolescents, and families in Bismarck/Mandan since 2009. I see clients age 10 and up and have a special interest in assisting clients with grief and trauma. I am drawn to the counseling profession by a strong sense of justice, a desire to be helpful, and appreciation of the unique differences between all people. I am so honored that I get to take steps with you on your path toward overcoming obstacles and challenges and bringing your strengths to light. 


I am also certified by the ND Board of Counselor Examiners (NDBCE) to provide clinical supervision for counseling practicum students, interns, Licensed Associate Professional Counselors (LAPC) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC). Clinical supervision is another strong passion area of mine and I find great joy in joining new counselors in their journey to becoming confident professionals in our field.

Jess Wurtz

Jess Wurtz, LCSW

Welcome! My name is Jess and I am excited you are checking out our page. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and also a co-owner of Stepping Stones Counseling. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Minot State University in 2010. I spent several years obtaining experience in a variety of roles working with youth and their families. I graduated from Florida State University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I believe in using a strengths based perspective by helping clients see their own resiliency while supporting them to meet their goals. I believe in meeting clients where they are and strive to provide them a non-judgmental and comfortable environment to feel heard and valued.
